So how it works is that when the nutrients from the plants meet up and cause some sort of reaction with these microorganisms called Geobactor, they release electrons which are captured in an electrode grid and then can charge a battery. These batteries are being used to power lamps, which is incredible especially for societies in rainforests, such as shown in the video above, because this is their only source of light and electricity. But it can be a great stepping stone for electricity production all over the world.
